New Items

Friday, August 28th, 2009

We just added some new items to the SOG website. Bluto (Red) and Stingray (Stingray).

There is now a Red handle version of the Bluto.  This is a limited edition of only 250 pieces.  It is in stock right now and shipping.

Second is a very special knife, the Stingray with Stingray hide inlay.  We refer to this model as the Stingray Stingray.  It just sort of makes sense and was a slam dunk for us.  This is also a limited edition of 500 pieces and is shipping now.

Fatcat in German Knife Magazine

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

Just received my copy of the most recent issue of Messer Magazin, which I think is the only knife magazine in Germany.  They do a nice review of the Fatcat and actually have a picture of it on the cover.  See the image below.

I am just going to have to refresh my German and try to figure out what they had to say about the knife.  I am posting scans of the article below if you want to see the article.

Access Card Retired

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

The original Access Card has been retired. It is always a sad day here at SOG when we have to retire a knife, but sometimes things have to be moved aside for new improved versions.

SOG Access Card

The new Access Card 2.0 is a great replacement for the Access Card.  The new version has an extremely light but strong handle, the smooth operating Arc-Lock, and a upgraded VG-10 blade.  We are also doing two different versions of it a silver version with sheepsfoot blade and a black version with a clip point blade.  Both have a low carry reversible pocket clip and are beginning to ship now.

Fatcat on Tactical Knives Cover

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

Just received my copy of the March 2009 issue of Tactical Knives, which features the Fatcat knife on the cover.  If you have not seen the magazine go to your local book store and check it out or better yet go buy yourself a copy.  There is also a nice article to go along with the cover photo about SOG’s newest Arc-Lock knives.

Digi Camo Flash Available

Monday, October 20th, 2008

The new SOG Flash II with Digi Camo handles are now starting to ship.  It took us quite a while to get the colors correct.  Actually, much longer than we had anticipated but in the end I think it was worth the effort.   So, if you have been waiting to get your hands on one of these knives, you should be seeing them soon.

Best of the Best – Mini Vulcan

Monday, August 25th, 2008

I don’t know if everyone knew this or has seen the latest issue of Field and Stream, but the SOG Mini Vulcan won a Best of the Best award for 2008.  Check out the article in the September 2008 issue of Field and Stream or read it online.  Here is a excerpt of what they had to say about the Mini Vulcan.

This is a super little knife. Its 3-inch blade, with a recurved edge, is made of VG10 steel and is held open by the SOG Arc-Lock…

Everyone at SOG is very excited about this and we are happy to be in the same standing as the other winners for 2008.
